Truth be told I am not a particularly monogamous person. The thrill that raises my blood pressure, dilates my pupils, causes my face to flush and my hands to tremble is ever present. But lately I have been doing my best to be monogamous to:
Oh, wait, you didn't think I meant that kind of monogamy, did you?
While I have been gone from the blog many things have happened, of course, some bad, many good. And one of the best is that Bob's beautiful daughter Lisa and her handsome husband Will gave birth to a son, Joshua. You would have thought I would have broken out the yarn and needles at this news, but no. I wait until after the baby is born. Crazy, I know. One of the photos we saw had the little dude in a cap looking somewhat camo. How appropriate thinks I since dad is in the military. Now the light bulb comes on and I get out the needles. Five years ago (can you believe it!) I knit his sister, Bella a cotton blanket for the cool nights in their warmer climate. I couldn't find any camo cotton I really liked in (what I thought) was enough skeins, so I settled for solid linen/cotton and a sort of camo cotton.
And so I knit.
And KNIT.
AND KNIT.
People around me kept saying it was enough, but there is never enough love to show a baby, right? Being the frugal sort, I didn't want to waste the yarn, and so, he might be able to take this off to college with him, it is that long.
But I am almost done. WHEW! And once it gets mailed off I will be able to knit (many) other things.
P.S. Speaking of monogamy-Happy Anniversary Dear Bob!
Thirty years ago today we stood among family and friends to share our life together.
And "they" said it would never last.
